GPS Controller

RUD’s new technology was designed to be a tool that will prevent improper use of your RotoGrip system and will provide additional safety measures for your system and tires.

RotoGrip systems work best at speeds below 20mph. The GPS Controller Module will monitor the speed of the vehicle and will control the system dependent upon that speed. As the switch to control RotoGrip systems are located in the cab of the vehicle, the GPS module can enable or disable that switch as well as send signals to an LED light and buzzer also located in the cab that serve as warnings to the driver.

The GPS module allows the switch to be activated and your system to deploy only at speeds ranging from 0 to 20MPH. Once the switch is active the GPS module will monitor the speed of the vehicle and if the speed increases over 30MPH the module will sound the buzzer and the LED light will begin to flash.

The GPS module will allow the over speed for 10 seconds, if the vehicle does not slow below 30MPH the chains will retract. The buzzer will continue and the light will flash until the vehicle slows below 20MPH or the switch turns off.

If the switch is left on and the vehicle slows down below 20MPH the switch will activate the chains and they will deploy, the light will return to solid and the buzzer will stop.

Switch Manual Override

In the case of a lost GPS signal, the switch will have an override position which will allow the driver to deploy the chains manually for 1-minute intervals up to 3 times. If the GPS signal is returned at any time during the 1-minute manual usage then the system will immediately return to the GPS mode and control of the switch.

If the GPS signal is lost when the chains are being used then the chains will retract, the LED light will flash, and the manual side of the switch will flash to alert the driver.

The manual override will only function if the GPS signal is lost.

-Rud Chain, INC. will be the only one capable of changing any of the outputs of the module
-The GPS module will only be traceable back to RUD Chain, INC.
